Accommodations
and travel. We will help arrange travel to and from the
airport, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and patient escorts.
Interpretation. The
department’s
staff members are multi-lingual, and interpreters proficient in some
30 languages are available upon request
through our Language Assistance Lines.
Support. We maintain close relationships with faith-based and social
organizations that can provide further support to patients. We are able
to provide for special religious or cultural needs or diets.
Before you
arrive. A number of care services can be arranged prior to
your arrival:
- Pre-registration
is available
- Arrangements for
review of medical records prior to arrival.
- Contacting the patient’s
personal physician upon arrival, if desired.
- Arranging appointments
with physicians and clinics.
Pre-arrival
cost estimates. Patients can receive estimates for costs
in advance, including charges for tests, x-rays, rooms, surgery, and
meals.
Payment options.
Memorial Hermann accepts cash, personal checks from U.S.-based banks,
traveler’s
checks, and MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.
Insurance
assistance. The International Affairs Department works closely
with patients to expedite paperwork and ensure that it is completed fast
and accurately. We accept all U.S.-based insurance.
