Women’s Imaging Center

Memorial Hermann Southeast offers timely and efficient breast imaging and biopsy services in a friendly, professional environment. Our dedicated, fellowship-trained breast radiologists from world-renowned Rose Imaging Specialists, P.A. add a level of expertise to ensure exceptional care and service.

New technology available in the Women’s Imaging Center offers our patients high-resolution breast screening and, when appropriate, a minimally invasive alternative for breast biopsy. This minimally invasive procedure involves a one-time probe insertion into suspicious areas based on an imaging or physical finding. Once the probe is inserted, the system gently vacuums out suspicious tissue into a chamber.

• Time-saving procedure, completed in about an hour
• Matchhead-size incision with no sutures required
• Local anesthesia
• Quick return to normal activity
• Reduced possibility of false negatives (when results show no breast cancer, but cancer does exist)
• Reduced underestimation of disease (gives physicians a more accurate finding)
• No need for multiple insertions

The technology we have implemented in our Women’s Imaging Center improves comfort and convenience for our patients, while giving our radiologists better systems for enhanced viewing, reporting and tracking, which lead to increased efficiency, more accurate results and shorter turnaround time for exams.
