Houston,
Texas, October 28, 2004 -- Memorial Hermann Healthcare System,
the largest non-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, elected James
R. Montague chairman of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System Board
of Directors at its Annual Meeting on Thurs., Oct. 28, 2004. In addition
to electing a new System Board Chairman, the Board elected two new
directors: Ned S. Holmes, Chairman and CEO of Parkway Investments,
and Rufus P. Cormier, Jr., Partner with Baker Botts.
Montague began his
service with Memorial Hermann in 1988 as a director on the then Memorial
Hospital System Board and served as chairman of the Memorial Hermann
Hospital System Board of Directors from 1999-2001. In 1992 Montague was
elected to the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System Board and assumed various
responsibilities on both boards over the next 12 years.

Montague served
on the System’s Finance Committee for
14 years – six
years as its chairman. He also served on the Memorial Hermann System
Quality Committee for five years and on the Governance Committee
for six years. Two years ago, Montague was elected a Director of
Health Professionals
Insurance Company, Ltd. and is serving his second term as a Corporate
Member.
Montague replaces retiring board chairman, A.T. Blackshear, Jr.
