Update regarding “Bum” Phillips

Houston, Texas, July 13, 2005 – We are pleased to report that retired coach O.A. “Bum” Phillips is making very satisfactory progress after undergoing triple vessel by-pass surgery at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital on Friday, July 8. Today he was moved from the intensive care unit to a private room where his recovery program continues. He is up and about and undergoing an appropriate and complete rehabilitation program.

Mr. Phillip's length of stay in the hospital will be determined by continued assessment of his needs, his daily progress, careful coordination with the physicians in attendance, and consultation with the patient and his family. While he remains at the hospital, daily progress reports will be accessible through the online newsroom at www.memorialhermann.org.

The family appreciates your prayers in lieu of other well wishes.
