C.E.O. To Head Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital
Huffstutler Brings Proven Track Record for Pleasing Patients

— With
more than 20 years of experience in Houston healthcare and a reputation
for creating hospital experiences that exceed patients’ expectations,
C. David Huffstutler has been appointed CEO of Memorial
Hermann Southeast Hospital.
Huffstutler comes to Memorial Hermann from HCA Healthcare Corp.,
where he most recently served as CEO of the 155-bed Kingwood Medical
Center. Patient and employee satisfaction ratings increased substantially
at Kingwood during his tenure. Before joining HCA in 1997, Huffstutler
worked 16 years for the Methodist Health Care System. He served as
a director in various areas of the system during his tenure.
“David brings extensive experience and proven results to Southeast
at a key time in the hospital’s history,” said Memorial
Hermann Healthcare System President and CEO Daniel J. Wolterman. “Under
David’s capable direction, Southeast is preparing to introduce
new and expanded services to the communities it serves.”
Scheduled to open
later this year at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital is a $70-million
expansion including new emergency and heart centers and 18 additional
intensive care beds. Also, construction of a new medical office building,
which will consolidate women’s
services and medical oncology, begins in July.
Huffstutler holds
a master’s of business administration degree
from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and a bachelor’s
of science in healthcare management from the University of Alabama.
He is an active member of the Texas Hospital Association and the American
College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Humble Area Chamber
of Commerce board of directors.
The 256-bed Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital includes a six-story
professional office building and has served southeast Houston and surrounding
areas since 1986.
