 (January 25, 2008) – Kumari Weeratunga, M.D. (standing), a pediatrician with Wee Kare Pediatrics in Humble, Texas discussed what happens “after” the baby is born with Brittany and Bryan Beaver of Crosby. The Beavers were among a group of first-time expectant moms and dads attending an educational program at the Babies “R” Us Store in Humble. Dr. Weeratunga covered such topics as “when to give the baby’s first bath” and “what happens to the new baby’s umbilical cord,” and answered a multitude of questions from the nervous moms- and dads-to-be. “Ask the Doctor” educational programs are held at Babies “R” Us stores throughout the Houston area and are co-sponsored by the hospitals of Memorial Hermann and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. Programs are presented on the third Thursday of every other month inside the Humble Babies “R” Us stores. The next program is scheduled for March 20.
