Partners in Charity
Supports Children's Miracle Network with a $15,000 Donation
Houston, Texas, January 15, 2004 – Partners in Charity is beginning
their new year by giving back to the Houston community and donating
$15,000 to Children’s Miracle Network at Memorial
Hermann Children’s
Hospital. A gift presentation will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2004
at Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital in the Lowe’s Sun
Room.
With the help of a local
homebuilder, this donation will be the first time Partners in Charity
has donated to CMN in Houston. “We are
strong believers in raising money and giving back to the community,” said
Charles Konkus, Partners in Charity Executive Director.
Partners in Charity, found
online at www.partnersincharity.org, is a nationwide, non-profit
corporation dedicated to helping homebuyers
become homeowners by supplying down payments in the form of gifts. “The
only criteria homebuyers must show is that they are able to make a
mortgage payment,” Konkus said. Under the program, the free gift
funds used toward the down payment do not have to be repaid. Partners
in Charity will gift up to five percent of the final sales price on
a home. “We estimate about 10%-20% of every down payment goes
back to helping the community,” Konkus said.
Children’s Miracle Network in Houston is a non-profit organization
dedicated to helping children suffering from diseases, injuries and
birth defects by raising funds and awareness for Memorial Hermann Children’s
Hospital. The funds donated by Partners in Charity will contribute
to the care provided by Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital
to treat all children regardless of condition or their family's ability
to pay.
