Wellness Center

Components of Wellness

The Wellness Center embraces not just the physical component of wellness, but also its social, mind and spirit components. The center's holistic view of health can be tailored to every age. To achieve lifelong health and wellness, the four cornerstones of wellness must be balanced.

meditationBody
One of the Wellness Center's greatest assets is the diversity of fitness programs it offers. Everything from digital cardiovascular equipment and racquetball courts to lap swimming pools and spinning classes is available. Assessments and optional personal training/coaching opportunities enhance the safety and effectiveness of our programs.

Classes include numerous aerobic and aquatic programs, fitness and strength, prenatal and disease-specific programs, basketball and volleyball, Tai Chi, Flex and Yoga exercise, among many others.

The social component of wellness can be explored through a number of multi-participant programs such as basketball, running clubs, senior trips, Wellfest, yoga exercise or cooking classes and through personal development workshops. "Courtship and Marriage" is just one example.

Social and athletic clubs, group studies, mentoring and volunteering opportunities allow friendships and partnerships to develop among participants. Our facilities and classes encourage social interaction, stimulate self-examination and cultivate confidence as participants explore personal growth opportunities.

Taking a personal look inside is a great way to develop inner peace and happiness. Our wellness classes encourage creativity, personal growth and development, along with an understanding of what motivates us. All are offered in a fun, non-threatening environment.

Several classes focus on personality traits and types. Specialty classes include "Grief: Working Your Way Through It" and "Life After Loss."

Classes focus on changing negative behavior patterns and promoting a positive lifestyle.

Classes also help examine spirituality, an important but frequently overlooked component of wellness.
Our spiritual health offerings do not focus on one religion or set of beliefs. Instead, a variety of classes allows participants to tailor their exploration.

Spirituality classes examine the different religions of the world, their similarities and differences, and how people practice faith. Different ways to pray and meditate are also explored.

We approach our members' spiritual development with openness and respect for diversity, offering programs that can enhance personal integrity, family values and community ethics.
