Partnership
As part of the
Memorial Hermann family, University Place partners with Houston
Baptist University to provide access to cultural and recreational
services. University Place residents attend lectures, audit classes,
view art exhibits and enjoy selections from the campus library
at HBU.
University professors
and students also teach within the retirement community. Recently,
two classes of English students participated in a project with
the residents to compile their stories into a collection written
by the students.
HBU and Memorial
Hermann Healthcare System developed the Wellness
Center, which sits adjacent to University Place, to promote
wellness to the greater population. As University Place residents,
seniors automatically receive upon their move-in a complimentary
membership to the state-of-the-art fitness and health facility.
