Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems Program
One of only 14 sites in the country designated by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) as a Traumatic Brain Injury Model System, Memorial Hermann|TIRR will use this grant to investigate the effects of traumatic brain injury on social communication.
Model Spinal Cord Injury System Program
Memorial Hermann|TIRR has been designated as a Model Spinal Cord Injury System Center since 1972. Funded by a NIDRR grant, our program has received funding continuously every five-year renewal period for 35 years.
Community Integration
The Independent Living Research Utilization program at Memorial Hermann|TIRR works with independent living centers and other disability-focused organizations around the country to increase opportunities for people with disabilities to live more independently.
Educational Opportunities and Research Affiliations
Through its affiliation with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Alliance of the Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas Health Science Center, Memorial Hermann|TIRR houses one of the largest Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training program in the country.
