About Our Hospital
Continually recognized as one of America's Best Hospitals, Memorial Hermann|TIRR is regarded as a national leader in medical rehabilitation and research. TIRR is a teaching hospital for Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
Some of the world’s leading physicians in rehabilitation medicine provide care at TIRR. Its patient-care environment blending passionate people, exemplary care and a commitment to overall quality of life distinguishes TIRR. The facility transforms lives in a positive way and inspires hope in people whose lives have been significantly altered by an illness or injury.
Medical rehabilitation has rapidly developed and expanded in recent years, permitting many people with injuries or disabilities to achieve far greater levels of function and independence than previously thought possible. These medical and technological advances – along with appropriate case management and early admission to rehabilitation programs –have prevented complications, improved quality of life and reduced lifetime medical expenses.
Interdisciplinary treatment teams at TIRR, an acute rehabilitation hospital, and TIRR’s outpatient therapy facilities provide a comprehensive continuum of medical rehabilitation.
TIRR provides rehabilitation for those who have experienced catastrophic injuries or illnesses. This not-for-profit hospital has served the community from its location in the Texas Medical Center since 1959. Admission to TIRR can occur as soon as the patient is medically stable and accepted for admission.
