Biodex Isokinetic Testing

The Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine offers the Biodex System 3 Multi-Joint Unit as a testing and treatment option.

Based on the amount of effort supplied by the patient, the Biodex system provides an accommodating amount of resistance, allowing for safe and efficient strengthening and testing of joints without compromising the healing or surgical repair of an injury.

Isokinetic testing can provide your physician with valuable information about strength deficits and muscle imbalances that may predispose a particular joint to further injury. The information obtained through the test also provides your physical therapist with baseline objective data to compare with follow-up testing after rehabilitation.
