Pediatric General Surgery

The medical staff pediatric general surgeons associated with Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital evaluate and treat chest and abdominal problems in infants, children and adolescents, including groin hernias, appendicitis, pyloric stenosis, umbilical hernia, constipation and gastroesophageal reflux.

We also routinely treat less common problems, including intestinal atresias, omphalocele, Hirschsprung's disease, imperforate anus, cancer in children, abnormalities of the female reproductive system and chest problems such as pectus excavatum, among other disorders. Many of these problems are diagnosed during pregnancy through the Texas Center for Fetal Assessment and Treatment.
