Houston Goes Red

Houston Goes Red for Women

One in five females across the country is currently living with some form of cardiovascular disease. Since 1984, more women than men have died of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. In fact, the difference in deaths is more than 65,000 per year. Clearly, cardiovascular disease is not just a male health issue.

The American Heart Association and Memorial Hermann are educating the Houston community about the prevalence of heart disease and stroke in women and are arming them with the necessary information to fight cardiovascular disease. Through its Go Red For Women awareness and fundraising program, the American Heart Association encourages women to make their health a top priority so they can live stronger, longer lives.

Memorial Hermann is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Houston Goes Red for the third consecutive year.
