Nominees for the famed Roger Clemens Award visited youngsters at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital July 11, signing baseballs and talking sports with young fans. The Roger Clemens Award, named after future Hall of Famer and onetime Houston Astros pitcher Clemens, is the only award of its kind, honoring the best pitchers in college baseball. Each of the finalists – Adam Mills of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte; David Price of Vanderbilt University; and Jacob Thompson of the University of Virginia – have dominated opponents all season. The award is administered by the nonprofit Greater Houston Baseball Association.
