Application and Admission

Application Requirements

To be considered for enrollment in the program, the applicant must:

Be a graduate of a program approved by the Joint Review Committee, which is the approving body for diagnostic radiography programs. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists has a list of approved schools.
Have completed an approved program and have taken the ARRT diagnostic exam (R) – for diagnostic radiography. Decision on admission would be contingent on results of the test. Students failing to pass exam will not be permitted to complete clinical portions until passing results have been documented with the school. Copies of the ARRT card must be presented to the course coordinator for student records.
Have a current state license. All applicants are required to present a copy of their Texas state license as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) to the course coordinator for student records. Applicants failing to present a current state license as CMRT for the state of Texas will not be eligible. Preferably, the applicant will also be a registered radiologic technologist ARRT (R) as specified by ARRT.

Admission

A limited number of positions are available in each class, and many more applicants apply than are admitted. Selection is based on a combination of academic preparedness, entrance examination scores, personal interviews and career and life experiences. Applicants must have current RT (R) and current CMRT licenses.

The December 2007 class is now closed. Applicants can apply for the June 2008 program.
