Memorial Hermann the Official Healthcare Provider for Houston Rockets, Comets and Aeros

In July 2005, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System reached a multi-year agreement with the NBA's Houston Rockets, WNBA's Houston Comets and AHL's Houston Aeros to serve as the official healthcare provider for all three professional teams. The agreement marks Memorial Hermann's first partnership with a major professional sports franchise.

The long-term arrangement includes plans for joint grass roots community wellness initiatives, as well as providing the official team physician and an interactive area, the Memorial Hermann Sky Court, located on the Toyota Center's upper north concourse.

Sky Court

The Memorial Hermann Sky Court features 7,936 square feet of interactive space in the upper concourse of the Toyota Center.

Visitors of all ages can learn about Memorial Hermann services while comparing their height, weight, wingspan and vertical jump to Houston Rockets’ stars. The space highlights the health and wellness of children and adults and features:

• Kid-sized version of the Toyota Center basketball court – complete with two basketball goals
• Replica home-and-away locker rooms
• Customized games like Sky Shot, Whack the West, Alley Hoops and Reaction Time
• Party room
• Mascot-inspired play area

The Memorial Hermann Sky Court is now open to fans before, during, and after every game played at the Toyota Center.   

Team Physician

The Rockets team physician is Thomas O. Clanton, M.D., medical director of orthopedic surgery at Memorial Hermann -Texas Medical Center.

He is also professor and chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
