About Us

Partners in Caring

In 1988, Memorial Healthcare System president Dan S. Wilford appointed 10 employees and challenged them to "create a unique environment where all who enter our doors would feel they were someplace special." Those 10 employees answered the challenge and proposed that Memorial employees create that unique environment, hence making them the focus of the process, or Partners In Caring (PIC).

A Process
PIC is an employee-driven process that is striving for that unique environment where patients, families, employees, physicians, and all others who enter our doors know they are somewhere special. They know, that here, they will be treated with dignity and respect. This process is now included in orientation and in the employee handbook. PIC has become so critically important in the delivery of our services that it is included in each employee's yearly evaluation.

A Philosophy
As Partners In Caring, our philosophy is to treat everyone with the same dignity and respect we want for ourselves. The objective is to provide a "Unique Quality Environment" where the keys to quality service are always present for customer, employee, and medical staff satisfaction.

The Four Keys that Unlock our Unique Environment

  • Safety
The safety of the customer is the first priority; it can never be sacrificed

  • Courtesy
    Consideration and respect for others

  • Cleanliness
    A pleasant and comfortable environment

  • Efficiency
Doing the right thing, the right way, the first time
