Baptist
General Convention of Texas approves financial support of hospital,
with the charter, the hospital becomes the Baptist Sanitarium
and Hospital. |

Four-story reinforced concrete building
is added, increasing bed capacity to 50. |

Four
additional stories increase bed capacity to 115. A roof
garden is built on top of the 6th floor, specially equipped for "baby
camp" of up to 50 babies. |

H. Hermann dies in a hospital in Baltimore, Md., at the age of
71, leaving the bulk of his $2.6 million estate to build and
maintain a hospital for the sick and poor of Houston. |

of civic leaders is appointed. |
